I am new to all this when it comes to suppressors and the sub sonic ammo. I am basically seeking recommendations for a good all around squirrel bolt action. I will decide on which suppressor later. I have researched the web and get mixed signals on bergara, savage, ruger, and cz's. I dont need a match gun, just a standard tight group for varmit/small game. Any help is appreciated.

For knocking around the woods and what not it's hard to beat a bolt action Marlin and I wouldn't be afraid of a used one if the bore was good. If it hasn't been left out in the rain and was cleaned every 10 years it should be perfect. Then there's Savage with Accu-Trigger, the CZs and discontinued Remington bolt rifles. I've got my eyes peeled for a Remington 582 right now. Any of these should treat you well.

I am a huge fan of CZ rimfires.

Tikka or CZ would get my vote

Make sure the barrel is threaded if you plan to add a can, yes you can do that later but you will have to pay a smith and there is the hassle of pulling the barrel from action etc. lots of factory threaded options.

Budget pick: ruger American rimfire. Good beater and will still shoot tight. Uses 10/22 box mags.

Spend more: CZ or tikka, look on euroooptic.com. Can't go wrong w either.

any particular model in those 3 stand out vs the other?

Tikka makes a T1x in 16" or 20" and both are threaded. CZ makes a few, threaded models but none will be as short, light or handy as a 16" tikka or even a 20".

I've seen a few Bergara in action and most have had feeding issues with the b14r. The new model looks to have addressed that.

would there be a big difference in accuracy say at 50 yards between the 16 and 20 inch barrels?

My very first CZ was a 16", threaded, 452 American. It was extremely accurate. Never should have let that one go.

You could also get a 457 scout. It's 16" threaded. You would probably need to re-stock it, as it's generally for kids.

Here is a pic of Jeb with his scout when we picked it up at gun store.

Don't ask me to explain this, but if you go with a short barrel and are looking for accuracy...stick to subsonic ammo.
Something about hypersonic ammo will go transonic sometime after leaving barrel. It is said that that transition will disrupt the bullet...which could cause it to be less accurate. It's also said that longer barrels can slow down hypersonic bullets to subsonic speeds just because of the extra barrel resistance (longer than 16").
I don't know if any of this is true, but there is a reason match grade ammo is subsonic.

Good to know. I know zilch about ammo and such. I was gonna burn that bridge after I made a decision on what rifle to get. Then tackle best suppressor and ammo next. Thank you all. I am gonna go with cz or Tikka more than likely just gotta research em both on comparison.

Do check eurooptic for pricing. They often run sales and are great to order from. I had a dude call me once on a Sunday afternoon to verify a shipping address bc "he just wanted to make sure it was right before he shipped". Hard to find that these days.

That's where I bought 2 CZ 457 MTRs in April. They beat everybody's price and shipped very quickly.
