I see this as a solid hire with the SEC experience and a couple N/C rings. Also his offenses have been near the top of the rankings and that is what FL needs. Reminds me of another Meyer but with a different style of offensive scheme. Go Gators... :) This guy has took a program from 3 wins up to 10 wins in 3 seasons. He has proved he can rebuild a program.

Done deal after Foley conceded on the buyout. Gonna cost the Gators a lot, including paying Roper's buyout.

Many on the CSU board weren't enamored with him.

Just like Jones, time will tell.

Funny,it cost Florida 13 million to get a coach from Colorado St.Gator didn't tell the teams that Colorado St beat in those 10 wins,complete no bodies.They had to hang on just to beat Utah State,a team that Tennessee beat like a redheaded stepchild.I give him 3 years at Florida,heck Mushchamp lasted 4 years lol

I just noticed that McElwain is undefeated against UT from 2008-2011 while the OC at Bama..... :grin:

It's going to look pretty bad when the Dr. Pepper guy is spanking the SEC..... :D

Were Zook and Muschamp first choice? And it was an easy decision for McElwain....it was the only other offer he had.

Were Zook and Muschamp first choice? And it was an easy decision for McElwain....it was the only other offer he had.
