Looks like the Gators are close to a new coach

Yep.... Both Zook and Muschamp were at the top of the list of several teams when the Gators hired them. Muschamp was the coach at waiting for the Texas job when Mack Brown stepped down and UT tired to hire Muschamp but he turned UT down. Hiring any coach is a roll of the dice but McElwain has SEC ties, recruited FL, and rebuilt a program. Time will tell.

He already built one ship and righted it. Let's see if he can do another one :)

Yep... UT fans are sounding scareddddd... :)

Looks like first choice was hired 5 days after Muschamps last game.... :)

Were Zook and Muschamp first choice? And it was an easy decision for McElwain....it was the only other offer he had.
Lol they could have hired the jv basketball coach outta there local HS and gator fans would say it was there first choice and his a good hire haha lol time will tell.

I see this as a solid hire with the SEC experience and a couple N/C rings. Also his offenses have been near the top of the rankings and that is what FL needs. Reminds me of another Meyer but with a different style of offensive scheme. Go Gators... :) This guy has took a program from 3 wins up to 10 wins in 3 seasons. He has proved he can rebuild a program.

so its obvious now, the gators took a solid hire with the SEC experience and a couple N/C rings. Also his offenses have been near the top of the rankings, this guy has took a program from 3 wins up to 10 wins in 3 seasons and the gators ruined him. :rotf: :smash:
