This is one of many threads having doubt... These are Vol fans on Volnation

"It's very evident after tonight.

This team is digressing. The only way a coach can keep the fan base energized and unified, while asking them to be patient and trust the process, is if the fans see progress by the team and the coaching staff on the field. "Be patient" and "trust the process" wears thin without the onfield progress.

well said, jones just sounds like dooley. coaches the same to

The offense really has gotten worse. I love our defense, but we will not get to six, or even 5, if Butch cannot turn things around.

its funny this .... town worships ut football charges unreal prices etc yet when they hire a coach they don't spend any money ...ut deserves this horrible football ...and this great recruiting people talk about sure doesn't show up on the field ...we have been young for the last 5 years

Bingo !!! I'm tired of Butchspeak !!! I want to start seeing some results, or at the very least some improvement.

This whole offensive staff is .... garbage. Call me a nega, whatever, but I've seen enough from these idiots to tell me they aren't SEC caliber.

It isn't customary for a team to get WORSE as a season carries on. Especially young players. If injuries at key positions were ravaging us that would be one thing, but our young players clearly are regressing."

Butch will be joining Muschamp soon....

That guys an idiot, Butch will be here 1 more year at least, maybe two.
Muschamp is gone and unfortunately with the talent UF has that's probably not good for the Vols. 0-11....

He may be but that would be a shame because Mushchamp has been sucking at Florida way longer than Butch at UT. It has been 16 years since UT was on top and thats where the decline started gradually getting worse and now we are here. 16 years people. UTs decline started after the NC. People expected us to come back and win it the next year and the next and when we didnt everybody started getting down on Phil and next thing you know hes out. Then more years of doom and gloom with Kiffin and Dooley. Why do some of these people think all of that can be undone in two seasons? Some of the fans on Volnation along with some on here expect way too much.

Butch may not get it done but its not because hes not trying. To be honest id rather lose every game in a season coached by Butch than win everyone coached by Will dbag Muschamp.

I agree Butch will be back next season but it will be interesting without a proven trigger man and maybe a little improved line. It could get tough for CBJ next season.

Looks like maybe Mullen or Doc Holiday could be heading to the Swamp.

The problem with UT is, I am not sure if their O-line has the talent to improve exponentially and then we have another freshman or unproven QB coming in.
Butch should get two more years regardless IMO.

I said the same thing in he other thread. Butch definately works his tail off. I just don't know if he's the one to bring the vols back to elite status. He had one the best o-lines in the nation last season, and lots of talent. Got beat in Knoxville by vandy.

Even if he is not the guy he has brought the roster and talent level back and the next guy will have something to work with....

I agree but like you mentioned, some fans don't understand. Thats why I took a wait and see approach with Muschamp He basically needed to win 2 of these four games with LSU, Mizz, GA, and SC to keep his job. He's 0-2 and pretty much gone

Bingo! The cupboard will be well-stocked for Gruden ;) :D !

We have an o line that was playing high school last year on the road against the best line in the country, what do you expect. Every year we seem to have a weak link, this last recruiting year we got 32 highly ranked guys. It should soon strengthen the chain

Some fans are restless and not happy but I think Jones just happens to be the one bearing the brunt of it. He's trying to rebuild a team that was the SEC doormat under Dooley. You don't turn it around overnight. I'm as eager and anxious as the next fan to get back to where we were in the 90's but I'm also realistic about the time Jones needs to do it. In two more years if we're looking like this we'll talk about firing him then. Until then back him.

Leader, you and I think very much alike. Our line is so bad they have to improve exponentially to even be a below average SEC line next year. It's a real shame we have so much talent at the skill positions but can't do anything with it. I'm terrified that next season will be another 6-6 type season with poor qb play and a bad O-line and the "fans" will start calling for CBJs head. What none of those "fans" realize is that if we fire him after next year or even the next no established head coach in America would take the job because of how unstable it is and how short the coaching leash is.

Put your money where mouth is on that prediction.

If you had some current really cool stats to post about your team...Like that #2, 3, 6, and 11 defense they supposedly had last year, you would be talking about that. Too bad a #37 recruiting class isn't a cool stat in the SEC. You would be chopping some tall cotton if it was.

Instead, all you can do this season is continually make your overly obsessive digs at UT. After all, that's much easier than watching your team go belly up in the fish bowl.

To help you out... FL is # 13 in total defense right now and that's considering they gave up 645 yards to Bama. Talking about being in a fish bowl.... :) Digs work both ways so welcome to the sport forum. Here's a link for you.

^^ THIS ^^

The fans crying for his job just don't understand the problems he inherited. Most predicted a 5-7, 6-6 season, and it kills them that they let an inept UF team (who has quit on their coach once again AFTER they play the Vols) slip by with a win.

Like you said, he gets two more years at a minimum, no matter what some yappers say, and then will be evaluated on the direction of the program.
