If David Cutcliffe were 10 years younger the LSU spot would be his if he wanted it.

I'm not saying that because he beat Notre Dame. He had already proven himself before Saturday.
Ole miss??

A guy I work with who's from down there and big LSU fan wants him now.

Sound as if your coworker has some common sense.

He turned that program completely around. 5 straight bowl games and a #13 ranking. Fired after one losing season. Since landing at Duke, he's done more with less than he had at Ole Miss.

he is a good coach. he defenses sucked at ole miss.

"Cutcliffe was fired by Ole Miss Athletic Director Pete Boone in December 2004 after his only losing season at Ole Miss. Boone had asked Sutcliffe to fire some assistant coaches(defense) and provide a detailed plan for improving the program, specifically the defense and recruiting. Sutcliffe refused to fire any staff members, and was subsequently fired along with his assistants." 4-7 with back to back losses to memphis.

my point being, its why lsu ran off miles.

ole miss is one of those schools (like miss state) that doesn't realize they are a 6-8 win team and the occasional 10 win season on a great year. That's the ceiling. He would have done that there for a while. They believe they are better than an 9-3 team which they should have been happy with because thats probably as good as it gets. Every now and then they might get to 10-2 but more often than not 7-5.
Ole Miss is in a tough spot - there is a good Texas A&M team to the west, a good LSU team to the south, a great Bama team to the east and a auburn team farther east. Will be hard to win all those, a great season for Ole Miss would be to win 9 to 10 games.

What's wrong with wanting to be a better team? Cutcliffe showed he couldn't recruit and nobody like the way he ran the game. It took time to find a better coach, but Freeze has the program in a better spot now than Cutcliffe could have dreamed of.

The fan base was tired of being a 6-8 win team. The administration made an effort to get the right coaches and turn things around.

The SEC West is the toughest division in football. 10 wins is great for any team - especially if you take on tough out of conference opponents.

lets not crown Freeze on the mighty turn around yet.

nothing wrong with being a better team. not defending him being fired. just my opinion why he's a bad fit at lsu.

A European bookmaker has put out odds on 15 different coaches becoming the next head man at LSU. Bookmaker.eu: Link

Tom Herman: -115
Jimbo Fisher: +250
Kliff Kingsbury: +1600
Gary Patterson: +2000
Lane Kiffin: +2000
Mike Gundy: +2000
Ed Orgeron: +2300
Bobby Petrino: +2500
Larry Fedora: +2500
Kyle Whittingham: +3000
Bryan Harsin:+ 3500
Sonny Dykes: +4000
Todd Graham: +4000
Art Briles: +6000
Chris Kliemam: +6000
Field: +350

Bruce Feldman says Jimbo is LSU's first choice and that Herman is not interested in LSU job according to his source.
Also said Ed O has a chance to get the job and that Mike Gundy is a name in the weeds.
Feldman went on to say that Broehm and Willie Taggert are the top plan B fallback options. Lastly he said that Chip Kelly may very well be a legit candidate for the job. Take it for what it is worth.

Bovada odds for next LSU coach:

Herman 5/4
Jimbo 3/1
Fedora 4/1
Taggart 6/1
Orgeron 9/1
Lane Kiffin 12/1
Petrino 18/1
Briles 28/1

I was worried at the beginning of the season that LSU and Ole Miss were going to be the only real opponents ALABAMA would face.

Not any more. We have already beaten Ole Miss and LSU not looking so hot this season.

Looks like it might be a undefeated season for ALABAMA. Roll Tide!

Not saying this might happen or is even remotely possible, but I think if it did happen, we'd all say "I see why they/he did that."
