M.I.A. Kill Thread

The turkeys have been MIA for me since Saturday! Yet to find a non-henned up bird. I would settle for a bird with friendly hens who wanted to come close to me. lol

Im on that public land grind.....those of u who hunt strictly state land. Know the feeling of avoiding others while trying to get in position

Ive been there man. Its TOUGH to get a bird to gobble and not have another come from a different direction hunting your gobbling bird.

That moment when you aren't hunting a particular farm. Of course this happens. Why did I have to be sick on opening morning!

Well after a slow start to the season i finally kill a bird that previously busted me the weekend before on some public ground. I had to walk through 16" of mud fell 5 times into the water and finally got setup next to a tree sitting in water....why i did that idk lol.....i finally spot the bird in a cypress tree strutting....i had to compete with another hen across the channel to determine there flydown direction but i kept cutting her off. They flew to my side at 6:24 am and one strutted within 50 yds....the bird got too far right and i had trees and brush in the way and thought my hunt was over well another tom was coming to investigate my sweet talk....the dominant tom runs left and flogs the new bird and it tucks and runs and he kept walking left right into a gap....i pulled the trigger of the ol pardner pump and he flopped over....thank goodness for that other bird. In at 6 bird down at 6:35am got to work 7:30 am 30 min early lol

Good job guys ............. I have NOT had a shot "YET". A number of good birds sighted, just can't bring one into reasonable range. Well I did shoot one of my decoys, That felt sooooooooo good (ha)
