I remember the youth hunts of the past.. Barrel burners fowl everywhere. The way the calendar and the weather fell this year was a total bust for most kids..

My boys are on their 2nd year in a row with no kills and only one shot taken and it was a misfire... I hope they stick with it or maybe I don't...

The no week long break after the regular season gave the ducks no rest.

I wish they'd give the kids a whole weekend and the vets a whole weekend instead of this split 1 each 2 weekends in a row. Calendar fell just right for no rest day between reg season and juvy 1. Might be better next weekend, but it looks like it'll be warm...

Then if we get a crap weekend, one or the other group loses completely

It was good for us. My son got to hunt someone else's blind after the ice took out our decoys this week. He got his limit by 10. I agree it would be better if we had had a break before youth.

Youth weekend is not the only time they are allowed to go....

Week long break here in KY & I am sure that helps a lot. My oldest isn't quite ready hopefully by next year. I've got some friends with kids I'd love to take but I've got to get work all weekend.

New ducks from the north or new ducks from the south, new ducks are new ducks.

Mine are too busy in sports to really show an interest in going but I had rather take them when it is 60 than 6.

Youth weekend is not the only time they are allowed to go....

And you can't help the way the calendar falls. Next year you will get a full week break before both Youth Hunts.

Great youth season hunt in WTN, my Great Nephew and Nephew got it done while I was in Arkansas finishing out the season.
