making the vow

Ive done it for quite a while now. I took my gun twice last year when I started seeing alot of coyotes and took my smoke pole once the year before that on a scouting/get away from wife day to walk around. It hasn't bitten me yet... now ive probally jinxed myself

So are you still a bowhunter if you simply use a bow to extend your season?

Yet you hunt with a gun if that season is open?

HMMMMMM!!!

Like a bow season hunter vs. dedicated bow hunter ? I understand your point , I think we all bow hunt for different reasons . Nothing wrong with someone wanting to extend their season .

Take Both, My smoke pole and rifle have slings. I shoulder my longgun and carry my bow. Take close shots with the bow but dont miss out on a long shot cause of stuburness! I love the bow, but I am a equal oppertunity hunter!!!

I haven't hunted with a rifle in 20 years. I hunt with a revolver from time to time. I don't believe that decision has cost me a single deer. Almost all the deer I have a shot at are within bow range anyway. It's a personal choice. Lots of my friends hunt with a rifle but I would usually take my bow.

Just make sure you still wear your orange if Rifle or muzzleloader season is open.

P.S. I think I have carried a muzzleloader hunting twice. I just don't care for it. I would rather bowhunt than muzzleloader. But then I have been accused of being an elitist. Just hunt with what makes you happy.
