Sad I've been through 2 different danner boots in a year and both leak just walking though wet grass. My merrell chameleon boots are better then both and they are freaking low tops. I'm about to ditch hunting boots all together and just get a mid or high waterproof hiking boot. Seems no one makes waterproof light hunting boots anymore that don't cost $250

I've had good luck with my 8" Redwing work boots keeping the dew off. Well one pair is so worn out it leaks through the soles, the other pair is insulated so it hasn't been worn as much. Keep some oil on the leather and they are great. I'm gonna have to get me a new pair or two soon. One with low sides for work and another 8" for hunting. It sucks the soles wore out on one, the boots still have a lot of life in them otherwise.

Problem is I want a light uninsulated boot for this time of year

These are actually not that bad even when its warm. I've almost quit wearing my tall rubber boots (they are definitely hotter).

I've got a pair of lightweight gaiters that I carry just in case I need them for creek crossings or tall wet grass.

You need to make the change over to Lowas or another quality leather boot, make your first lite gear worth it! Treat them with Kennetrek wax.

I've had the danner snake boots and they were like tennis shoes on day one. Still used them until the bottoms fell off, about three hunting seasons.
I know have the Irish setter snake boots, they leak like a minnow net.

At least it's been cold enough some of these days that I just wear my muck boots.

The Rocky's I've had leaks, the cabelas and bass pro brands I've had leaks, pretty much everything.

I love the comfort and stability of the good danner and Irish setter snake boots though.

I've even treated all of them before I've ever used them with the sealant, but it doesn't work.

Very irritating. I bring a pair of socks in my vest, and change out mid morning. It helps some but nothing ever fixes it.

Have you tried the Irish Setter Vapr Treks?

No. Thought about it but have seen some super bad reviews on them and it seems it's more negative then not

Love those Lowa but I ain't got $250 for a pair of boots

Vapr Treks are not anywhere near the top of the waterproof list. Mine took on some dew before they even started to get worn out. And they wore out in less than a year.

Vaprtreks definitely won't keep the water out. I've never found a non-leather or non-rubber boot that keeps my feet dry walking through wet grass.

I bought a pair of Danners last year or the year before (not sure of model) but haven't worn them too much. Mostly for work days on our lease but they did get a little wet or my feet sweated. Couldn't tell which but they are comfortable. I normally wear one of my Mucks but my lightweight ones rub on my ankle sometimes.

This is what I've been doing for 2 years now works great on my RedWing

For $20 you can purchase kennetrek wax which is scientifically designed for conditioning leather boots (not sure what's in a toilet wax ring but if it has animal proteins it will eat away at your rubber rand and soles over time). A tub of boot wax will last multiple seasons.

But that is a crafty idea

I'm 3 years in with the Chippewa 17" pull-ons and still the best non-rubber waterproof boot I've ever owned. Even with all the rain we've had, crossing creeks, heavy dew, and swamp muck...still dry.

Good boots and I get two years out of them. Which is saying something imput some long rugged miles on boots during turkey season
