Mariota

# 1 draft picks have to play right away.NFL teams can't afford to let a first round QB sit with all the money they demand. Gosh I know you hate this redblood ,but this is why Winston will go first. More accurate in the pocket.Quicker to process .

Winston played out of the pocket more, but mariota completion percentage and TD/INT ratio is among the best ever. true, he hasn't had to throw into tight windows because his receivers are always open, but that doesn't mean he cant. Kiper has him at 1 and Winston at 6, last night. That will likely fluctuate I the weeks to follow , but the combine will be where Mariota will pull away. he is just a superior athlete and a superior person and it will be revealed there. his 40, his shuttles and vertical jump will be off the chart. No one will work harder in preparation for the combine than mariota. Football is his life. I doubt he will throw until his pro day, but he will display excellent velocity and better than promoted accuracy

well its all speculation till after combine. but I think the character issues will stop the GM's from pulling the trigger on Winston early

What is also clear is how far ahead Winston is over Mariota in the eyes of scouts based on what we heard, and the conversations that the PewterReport.com staffers had in St. Petersburg, Fla. this week.

We talked to a lot of respected people in the know around the NFL and the fact that Winston is viewed as the vastly superior quarterback by the majority of scouts surprised even us, and PewterReport.com has already gone on the record endorsing the notion of the Bucs drafting Winston.

the combine I believe will reveal how superior that Mariota is athletically. no doubt he has a ways to go in learning an NFL system. Winston will not measure well against a clock or on a wonderlic, I am convinced- but only time will tell. Winstons name cannot be mentioned by an analyst without being followed by the terms "character issues". I believe that will resonate with owners.

Just proves at how BAD his off-the-field rep really is. I mean, if they were close on the field, I could see some taking Mariota ahead of Winston based on the other stuff.

But if they are still thinking about Mariota, even with the exponential difference between the two, then it's obvious what the teams really think about him.

Mariota may run faster, but superior athletically. LOLOL.----Not even close.. Winston way out ahead on this one. Combine will prove that.

so in which combine event an Winston edge Mariota. shuttle? long jump? vertical? bench press? wonderlic? Winston has the advantage in splaying under center, but that aint a combine event.

Wonderlic for sure maybe half the others.Mariota runs a 4.3--im not sure. Winston a 4.5 not much diff.Throwing,Winston, bench --Winston. All speculation but Mariota better practice.
He's working with Whitfield and that is very promising. They have history and he's been known for his quick transition. He speeds up winstons release and works on the footwork, it can be be a thing if beauty.
Andrew luck approves so thats enough for me. Should be very interesting to see how good he can be now that baseball is no longer an option. Messing with his mechanics from pitching.
