Vandy looks like our only hope for a upset today . They are keeping it tight at the half .

But would that really be a upset?

It's sorta MEH. I watched the second half of the game . After watching mostly top teams play this year this was the first time I really sat down and watched some of the bottom feeders .

The one thing I noticed was the pace of the game and the physicality . It was so much slower pace . The clearly got off the line much slower and when a runner took off it was if they were in slow motion .

This Bama vs Citadel game was my first game that I went to. I loved it.

Saban has been after the home crowd fans all season about leaving the game early. Some were speculating that this would be a 50 point spread game and not a lot of people even went to it. I went cause tickets were dirt cheap compared to the Miss St game last weekend and the Iron Bowl this coming weekend. There were a lot of empty seats even at the start of the game and most people around me were making plans to leave at half time....figuring the score would be 50 to nothing at the half. Wrong. Nobody left at half time haha. Some were saying this was to keep people from leaving at half time. I dunno. I can see it both ways....that the Citadel people came to play and Bama put them on the back burner thinking an easy shut out....and or maybe they just kept it interesting at least thru the first half then took over. These games are all about money and the school makes a tremendous amount on concessions. People aren't buying things if they leave the stadium at half time. I went and got a bottle of water...$3 for a 20 oz Dasani. No idea how much the food and stuff was but it's like a theater...no outside food or drinks allowed inside.

Saban wasn't riled up until the 4th quarter when the defense players started getting penalties on 3rd and 4th downs. I was watching him close...I was on the 50 yd line and he was directly in front of me. He was calm thru the first half and only got upset during the penalties. When D. Harris went down, he was over there with him til he came to and was able to walk back to the sideline. Coach helped him walk back. I didn't see what he hit but the stands went from cheers due to his long yardage run to pindrop silent as he lay on the ground motionless for several minutes. Scary. Was nice seeing Jalen back in the game though. He made several good plays and then they pulled him. He was NOT happy bout it either. They put in M.Jones. Jalen came across the field to the sidelines holding his hands out in one of those "what?! Why you pullin me?" gestures. I had a blast. The TN vs Bama game is my anniversary week and wife and I are already planning our trip to the beach to kickoff with that game in Tuscaloosa. She is hooked on it now.

Not a Bama fan but Saban is the best coach ever... Hands down.

Another little incident that happened in the stands....I was wearing a Bama hoodie when the game started. By half time I was getting a little warm in the thing. I finally decided to take it off and just be in my shirt...which so happened to be after the start of the 3rd quarter after Bama dropped the ball at the kickoff. Which is exactly when they started playing good. Normally I wouldn't have thought anything about taking a hoodie off but the people around me noted it....cause after that, it was a Tua touchdown pass, then the scoop and score like 12 seconds later. Then the pass to Irv Smith for that 68 yard touchdown run. The lady next to me said "That hoodie is bad luck. You can't wear that to any more games...as soon as you took it off, the whole game changed". Everyone around us agreed. LOL. I'm still all smiles....watching it on TV can be exciting but being there surrounded by 90,000+ other people that are cheering for the same team is something else. I've been to NASCAR races where more people were there in the stands...but it's not the same cause people are pulling for one of 43 drivers...everybody ain't on the same page. Singin' Dixieland Delight and Rammer Jammer...good times. Haha.
