I have had better luck locating mid day gobblers by aggressively cutting when they wouldn't gobble at anything else. Gobbling also works but I wouldn't try it on public land

Same here. I hit them with some sharp cuts on a box call. That old box call seems to have a little better reach than others

This. Very tough around here. Loud cuts on the box is only thing i can get a gobble out of one with right now. The only time I use an owl is if I'm trying to get one gobble way early and get real close. Crow I only use if 1 has been gobbling and say i make a move I will hit him with a crow to see where he's at from the new location.

I go between a box and a 4 reed mouth call. Two series of yelps 7-9 notes. Then I wait a few secoonds and usually threw in a few cuts. I own a crow call and probably use it once a year. Only when a bird has gobbled, and I'm trying to course him but I'm non ready to call at him again.

I'll generally start with a crow call. Nothing works every time, but I've had enough success with a crow that I carry it every hunt.

I'll follow with a mouth call, crystal pot or aluminum pot.

I'll start with two cuts followed by a 4-5 note yelp. The cuts are medium range in volume and are the "attention grabbers." I increase the volume and rasp on the last 2 notes of the yelp.

That sequence will get most birds willing to work to gobble. If that doesn't work, I'll do the same sequence with 3-4 hard cuts on the end.

Turkey call. I spent the last year learning a diaphragm mouth call. I tried to work in an owl and crow call. I never ever could get either to sound like anything but a sick cow. I threw them both away.

Running and gunning is not my style. Any turkey sounds I make will be from a seated, strategic set up, regardless if one is gobbling or not. I'll sit in a predetermined location for an hour or more just listening, without ever making a sound, just waiting on turkeys to give away there location, then moving to get good ground on them before setting up and calling. I won't call to a Gobbler unless I'm set up in a spot where I believe I can kill him. I sometimes might reposition 2 or 3 times before ever calling to 'em.
