Midday movement?

friday on an all day hunt i fell asleep sittin against a tree around 1130-noon. woke up at 1pm with a buck 10 feet in front of me staring me in the face. once he settled down i put an arrow through him and 10 minutes later another buck came up the same way right to me. this was in southern mid TN close to the bama line.

Very cool.

Last Saturday, little after noon, watched a mature buck tend a doe...and defend her against a 2½ year old....watched from a distance through binos....earlier in muzzleloader season, when temps were warmer, mid-day was dead for my area, later in November mid-day activity seemed to pick up some. Sadly Im back to work now..but Lord willing, hope to hunt Saturday.

The past week or so has yielded more midday movement on my ground than I remember in the past 7-8 years here. Watched a buck go across a wide open 300+ acre field 45 minutes ago nose to the ground oblivious to the world around him.

What county are you in? We're in Benton County and not seeing much.
Just chiming in on the Benton county movement. Our lease is in Big Sandy. The last two days of muzzleloader and first two days of rifle were really good. 6 hunters killed 3 nice 8's. I could have made it 4, but couldn't get a clear shot. Another hunter missed a 9, so it could have been 5 of 6. Only 1 shooter seen since that Sunday.
