Middle of the day hunting

Well as I was on my way to hunt this afternoon and carry my daughter out in hopes of seeing something, a big 8 pointer jumped the neighbors fence about 100 yards from the farm and ran across the road right in front of us. He was at least a 3.5 yr old. I had planned to get out there at noon, but we got there about 1:45pm. I remember reading a thread last week about hunting 10-2. Well if we had been there earlier, we may have seen him. He came from the direction of the farm and river bottom were we hunt. Ended up only seeing a yearling and a small spike from 2:00 till dark. Going to hunt from 10-2 tomorrow!

I saw a 2 year old tending a doe today at 11:30

I've seen and killed some good deer mid day during the rut ...when conditions are right I'll pack a lunch and enjoy the time outdoors....good luck hunting!

Read somewhere that record bass are caught in the 10AM-2PM time frame. Sleep in.

I've killed 3 good deer between 12 - 2 during the rut over my years hunting. When the rut is on they are either chasing or cruising for does all day. Stay in the woods.

This big 10 pt was chasing a doe in a creek bottom at 1:30 today. Another nice 8 came through at 10. Of course i was hunting a different farm
