...and I'm perplexed. Was hunting from a ground blind this morning and a spike came to within 20 yards broadside at 6:40am. A clear and easy shot I thought.I fired and was shocked to see it jump, run about 10 yards or so and stop. I looked expecting to see an entrance wound but nothing. He actually stayed there long enough for me to re load but the angle just wasn't right so he trotted off. I was stunned that I clean missed that deer, all sorts of things were going through my mind. Found the bolt and it was clean and it appears I actually shot under it! If the bolt wasn't properly seated against the string could it have caused it to drop? Later today I'm hitting the targets to check if my scope may be off. Any ideas? I suppose I could have flinched in a rush to see the deer hit.
