I'm not much of a duck hunter but normally hunt with some college friends once a year. One of them has a place in Missouri so we hunted Saturday and Sunday. Killed 5 Saturday and 9 Sunday. Was supposed to hunt Monday but ice eater / generator problem kept us out with the water freezing and sleeping in didn't hurt my feelings. Ate some good grub and had a great time. This was between Steele and Gobler so just a smidge southwest of Kennett.
Good deal. We had a pit in Deering from 2021-2023. It's why I gave up going to the Bootheel--no good at all. Sounds like your buddy has a decent field--he should hold on to it!

This was our 9th year hunting Gobler. We have seen it change from a duck hunting spot, with the occasional goose, to a goose hunting spot, with an occasional duck.
I must admit, hunting specs is a lot of fun

I've never seen a dog standing up looking out of a blind like that! 😅 Great pic!
He's only 13 months old and doing pretty dang good retrieving and following hand signals. If he sees the duck it's game over. Anytime somebody grabbed a gun he'd jump up and look out trying to see the ducks. He's gonna be a great dog.
