The wife and I managed to find 32 small morels the past few days. Not hardly big enough to go to the trouble to bread and fry. So I went with morel fettuccine Alfredo for this batch.
They are also AWESOME sautéed in butter with a little minced garlic and added to an omelet with fresh mozzarella! Give it a try sometime. That looks absolutely delicious!!....but its never ever to much trouble to bread and fry a morel
With that said...the small early blacks are also great sautéed in butter then placed atop a homemade pizza with fresh mozzarella.
I'm afraid that flood we had here a couple weeks ago ruined a couple of my spots too. Not sediment but so much run off it washed the ground away. That looks awesome. I haven't found a single one here yet in upstate SC. Normally I'm finding them 2 weeks ago but all my spots are near creeks and I wonder if the once in 100 year flooding from Helene ruined my spots?? It sure left a lot of sediment on top of where they normally grow every mid March.
That sounds fantastic! Will do!They are also AWESOME sautéed in butter with a little minced garlic and added to an omelet with fresh mozzarella! Give it a try sometime.
