The exit hole was about twice the size of a pencil eraser. He only ran 50 yards and there was a good blood trail. A shot to the vitals100 yards & in and you should be good to go.How's the entrance and exit holes using a 5.56. Did you have to track it 5 counties over. Just a question my cousin was thinking about using that same bullet. But told me if you don't get a perfect shot. And or don't have big acreage to track before it go's off the property. He wouldn't feel comfortable with such a small bullet. I see the dead deer but Never doubted it could kill a deer. And I'm asking for him really. Do you really have to make a perfect shot. As not as destructive as a heavier bullet. Shot placement is important with any bullet. But bigger bullets have more collateral damage.?
