Put a ballon on mine. Shot it after getting rained on all weekend still went boom
Yup, that's what I was using.
Blew this contraption off this morning. It was a grocery sack that o wrapped around my muzzle break. Doubled it back a time or three and used a rubber band to hold in place. I do not recommend using a tracery sack in this manner. It looked like I had won the Super Bowl with all the confetti. I'll look into the finger cots before next season.Keep em wrapped!View attachment 252454
Tape the end of the barrel. I use the better quality scotch electrical tape but TAPE the end of the barrel. I tape all my guns when deer hunting all the time I hunt. I cross 2 pieces over the end and wrap a piece in a circle over them. And the bullet does not shoot through the tape. The pressure in front of the bullet blows the tape off. The bullet never touches the tape. I am hunting right now and the pic is the end of my sendero in 7MMSTW. You prevent anything getting in the barrel and if you trip, fall, whatever reason the end of the barrel gets accidentally poked into mud, dirt, etc. nothing gets in.I went in the rain this morning,I'm gonna clean my gun and put new powder in it.I had something over the muzzle and a garbage bag over breach but not taking any chance!
For me, it isn't the action I'm worried about. Mine is darn near water-tight. It's rain getting down the barrel as I walk in and out that worries me, hence I put something over the barrel-end.My Remington 700ml with Badger Ridge bolt upgrade has always seemed pretty tight.
interesting....I just see a hole punched through my electrical tape. Would love to see this pressure theory on video. Makes sense though that the air in barrel in front of the bullet punches the hole.Tape the end of the barrel. I use the better quality scotch electrical tape but TAPE the end of the barrel.
