what county??? great deer!Haha…I'll have a video up in a few weeks. It was definitely a chess match. He had a doe that he wouldn't leave. I used every call I had. Grunts, bleets, and even the snort wheeze. Over the course of 15 minutes he would come to 60 and go back to her. They finally went around me and was leaving so I let them get out of sight and hit the grunt and a short rattling sequence, she turned around and he followed. The shot was long and I was unsure of the exact hit so I came out, looked at the video (10000) times and gave him 6 hours. No arrow and only 1 drop of blood 50 yards from impact so we began a body search where I thought he ran. The farmer and son joined us and I explained the situation, he explained where we should go then he went exact opposite on his atv. 5 min later he called and said I'm coming to get you!!! Deer ran 200yards. Farmer told me earlier " he wants to go home and home is 1/2 mile this way" and he was spot on correct. Deer was headed to a 40ac. bedding area half mile away. Liver and 1 lung.
He was illinoisMay be a while before you top that one if you don't leave the state. Heckuva buck for sure. Looks to be right st 160?
