My First WHAT THE HECK Is Picture fro 2011

This is the only picture the camera took that morning. Placed on a narrow strip of woods, seperating to large overgrown fields. No cattle etc are in here. Camera is placed 4 foot up on a tree. Nothing in front of the camera to allow a possum etc to climb on??

What do ya'll think :)

Being four foot off the ground is what has me puzzled...

Had another forum mention it may be a velvet knub...I had the camera set on delay, no follow up pic.. thinking a velvet knub might be it??
 
Looks like a cat ear. You can see what looks like whiskers too. It could be up on its back legs sniffing the camera. JMO

What you got there is what the old country people call ... a haint.
 
Definately the tip of an ear. I'd saw a coon climbed the tree and was peering at the camera. Coon have white tips on their ears, shading to gray and brown. I see all those colors, plus a couple ear ticks.
