with the shape, it does not really look like an ear to me..

Think about this......a deer walks up, sees the camera and decides to investigate. The deer walks up, raises it's nose up smell it and all the camera gets is the underside of the mouth/nose........white with hairs, and the little brown stuff may be vegetation caught in the hair....the shape looks more like the end of the deers nose/mouth area, the white underside fits, imo.

I believe it is the tip of a fox squirrel's nose. The older ones have a little white patch on it. Last year I got an awesome picture of a squirrel's junk.
