My dad has a old, very old Ben Pearson Cougar recurve that has no string. Thought I would get a string for it and start shooting it some.Could someone point me in the right direction as where to buy or have a string made? The only numbers on the bow are : 962-64". Thank you!

Usually for recurves you want a string that's about 4" shorter than the bow length so a 60" string. With an older bow like that stick with B50 Dacron material and not any of the newer flast flight, dyna, kevlar, etc as they don't have enough give and can crack your old limbs. Get a flemish twist string so you can adjust the brace height by twisting or untwisting the string. Bas pro usually stocks recurve stuff these days, or you could order from 3 Rivers or somewhere. http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=1515X
