Well my Mathews MQ32 limbs are finally starting to split at the V where the cam is and I'm 5 weeks out before I head to Colorado for an elk hunt. I'm really interested in the hoyt spyder line but open to suggestions. I do plan to test drive as many different brands as I can but don't have long to squeeze the trigger on something.

Thanks :)

If you shoot the Elite bows...make sure to throw the Pure in there. It's by far the smoothest drawing one of their lineup.

Strother bows are nice as well. I will be hunting with the Hope this year. Amazing shooting little bow.

But if I were to get a new bow for 2013 and had to go pick one up today....it would be a Prime Impact. Hands down. Nothing I've shot even comes close to it. It's a bit out of my price range right now but every time I shoot one, it makes me start thinking about what all I can sell to swing getting one.

If you're interested in an Elite bow make sure you look up Fast Eddie who is an Elite dealer and a great guy!

I think the Hoyt would be the one I went with. A buddy just bought the Spyder Turbo. 30" Draw, 77lbs. 335 gr. Arrow (a little to light for my tastes). It shoots 368 fps through a chronograph and is still one of the smoothest shooting bows on the market.

I have a hoyt and love it. I would recommend shooting hoyt elite Matthews and bow tech at least those are the brands that felt the best to me.

Make sure you try out the Mathews Creed. Very smooth draw cycle, Solid back wall, super quite, and dead in the hands after the shot. It is not the fastest. But I have mine: 29 inch draw, 400 gr arrow, 65lb draw weight and I am shooting 290 fps. Plenty fast to kill any animal that walks in North America. It is a tack driver! Good luck on your bow search. Let us know what you get.

Shoot a bunch like everyone says, you may be surprised. I had my mind on a PSE but ended up with a Mathews MR7. Confidence is key, and mine came at a price. I bought used and got a better deal, and it would be hard to get that bow off my hands!

The creed as mentioned above has great reviews, and would be on my short list. Elite bows are top notch, almost pulled the trigger on a z28 when I was looking. Probably would have if I hadn't ran across the deal I got on my MR7 used.

The MR7 is a fine bow. I had a MR6 and loved it. Enjoy your new bow!

I shot a mission ballistic today. Shot it twice and put it up. If I had shot it anymore I woulda brought it home. I was there for new cables and strings, not a new bow

Thanks for your input gentlemen.

I went to the archery shop the other day and they carried Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, & Bowtech. I tried to shoot a little of everything and it probably would come down to the chill or spyder. I must admit that the Chill is a dead in the hands after the shot bow and the Hoyt has a little tunning fork twang to it, but not a deal breaker by any means as there are more factors to consider when choosing a bow. They all have plus and minus's that make it all too confusing for me.

The guy at the shop does have new limbs on order for my MQ32, but I still want something faster and newer. Not that I'm a speed nut, but increasing my range would be nice, especially that I'm hooked on western hunting like crack!

I have and honestly it was a good bow but just not a big fan of the draw cycle at the end.

I went with the Hoyt Spyder 30! This bow fits the bill for me. Feels great and surprisingly stable for such a short ata. This thing rockets arrows. At 30" draw and 70lb pull it chronod at 303 fps!

I shot the Creed and Chill and was walking in to buy a Creed. Shot a Hoyt Spyder 30 for kicks and ended up getting the Hoyt Spyder Turbo. Enjoy your Hoyt. The Spyder series are nice.

My only complaint is my Hoyt has a few "QC" issues. Had a limb splinter, stabilizer bushing come out, roller guide bearings leaking grease and finish is wearing off at the grip. Even with these issues with my bow its my best to date.
