A lot of useful information here dating back to 2012. Pics of shell/choke/pattern results. This can save you time and money.

GN TSS Choke/Pattern Info

My advice - choose a choke around .570 or so, get POA=POI and go hunting. Use 36" x 36" paper so you will be able to see majority of pellets/pattern. I use painter's drop cloth paper from Lowes. Link below.

36" drop cloth

FWIW, I get POI set real close with low brass lead 8.5s or 9s so I only have to shoot a few TSS shells to dial in final POI. I strive for a uniform well distributed forgiving 250/250 pattern. 250 pellets inside the 0-10" circle and 250 inside the 10-20" circle at 40 yards. All of my 20G turkey guns have 0.575 choke in them for hunting. I mainly hunt woods, but occasionally hunt an opening. Good luck!

That's a beauty. I shoot a m2 20 primarily and have a sbe2 12 that I used to hunt with but I believe another 20 may be my next. Most likely a sbe3 28 though

Agree. .570 to .575 is the sweet spot. I wouldnt go any tighter with tss

thats debatable on benelli's for some reason. 560 - 570 seems more the ideal area, granted all guns are different so you never know. In ALL my benelli guns (own 3 and have patterned more then a dozen for buddies) they all seem to do really well in that range.

Unfortunately Carlsons doesnt even make a 575 for crio+ guns only a 580 which kinda stinks. Now I say that with the understanding that the range you mention wont shoot POORLY by any means AND all this depends on the pattern the user is aiming for. I wanted a 250-280 in a 10" range with the same in the 20, I have shoot a bunch of 555 and 560 chokes in them and they shoot GREAT if you want a 300+ core. Most of the chokes higher then 570 would give me that 220-240 pattern with a wider spread on the 20 and 30" so if thats your goal then thats a good starting point.

AGAIN though every gun and choke are slightly different, for example I recently saw a pic of a trulock 585 in an M2 on oldgobbler that shot TIGHTER then a lot of the other tighter chokes he tried. There are always exceptions it seems.

Nice rig! Is there a significant reason you went with the SBE vs the M2? I currently have a 28" Montefeltro 20 and am wanting to set up a shorter barreled M2 or SBE. I'm trying to justify the additional expense of the SBE other than that's what I want.

I got it on a sale for a crazy price. It was a no brainer. It was in a hideous camo pattern I don't even know what the pattern is called honestly. I'm pretty sure they weren't being moved so they just clearanced them. I never even shot it before I took it to a buddy for cereakote. Lol

Had a cousin tell me one time a want becomes a need when you have the money to buy it. 😉🤷‍♂️😆

I have both (M2 is the original version that I prefer) and really the main advantage I really liked on the SBE3 is the ability to take the receiver off. It makes cleaning it much much easier. I still prefer the pervious version M2 stock design though. Ive had a sbe2 for years and I know it may sound silly but the ability to break it down with the receiver off was just something I always prefered. I will also add, when it comes to turkey guns I REALLY dont want anything with a barrel longer than 24" if I can help it (assuming its a dedicated turkey gun) with 26" being the longest Id do (only if its NOT a dedicated turkey gun)

now is that worth the cost of a new gun if you already have an m2? prob not for most :)
