New member here from rhea county

I put a finger cot over the end and just keep the area around the breech/trigger covered while hunting. Never had a problem. Depending on how much it rains and how wet everything got - I will sometimes unload it, clean it, and reload with fresh powder. And...welcome to the forum!
 
I prefer a small balloon over the muzzle but in a pinch I will use the thump out of a rubber glove or even electric tape over the muzzle. When you start to take a shot done even worry about removing it. Just shoot through it.
