New NIH Study on CWD

Just came across an article referencing this study conducted over the last few years. The authors infer from their study that CWD is unlikely to jump from deer to humans in its current form. Apparently this is the first study of its kind to use human brain-like material.

Interesting. These studies make me feel better about eating untested deer from positive zones, but I'm still not going to cook or give it to someone else without their prior consent.

Exactly. Maybe gives some comfort for incidental contact, handling, and processing before the test result. But this is just one study — some positive indications, but I don't want to be case #1, either.

I've often wondered if this disease can spread to cattle or horses but haven't heard of such . Surely if it could it would have already infected some in CWD areas wouldn't you think ?

Unfortunately, you don't get many chances to maintain your credibility as an authority figure.

The NIH has some excellent scientists working for them who appear to have performed some solid research here, but their organization has been compromised for a lot of folks.
