Walked down to a fishin hole in the Harpeth River better known for carp and catfish, but I first saw 3 decent largemouth on beds that wouldn't bite. I climbed up this tree onto a platform where there is a rope swing, and here came this bronze fish swimming right up the channel. I threw the lizard and the fish ate it. I pulled out my digital a scale only to discover the batteries had just died. So I measured it with my fishing rod - it went from the end of the butt to the K in Shakespeare. I got back to the truck and measured the rod at 19 inches. My previous best was 18.25 so it didn't beat by much, but it sure got the heart pumping.

Beautiful fish... Congrats!

I wish we had video of you climbing out of the tree while fighting the fish.
it was a bit sketchy, going down a 45 degree sycamore tree with 2x4 wooden steps

Surprisingly this one didn't fight too hard. Ran me under a couple of sticks and just sat there which made me real nervous with worn out 6 lb test. But I guided him straight back out and lipped it. Got me just a bit shaken up.
