Night Gobblin

Last night at 9 pm, a thunderstorm rolled thru in the distance. I just happened to be out with the dogs when a loud boom and lightning lit up the sky. Off on the ridge across from me, what sounded to be 2 gobblers fired off. Latest I had ever heard a gobble after dark. I thought night gobblins, lol.

I've heard Merriams gobble a lot after dark, never heard an eastern do it.

Me either. A couple of minutes after darkish, but not that late. I guess. It isn't to weird as they will gobble before daylight, lol.

Plenty of times I've heard em gobble in the absolute pitch black dark; both PM and AM.

I've heard em sev times, camped, at nite, with thunder
