Not what I expected for this morning- woke up 30 min late, actually had a black cat/panther cross path in front of me, we had a staring contest -he lost! And now not a gobble to be heard. Oh well atleast I'm in the woods

I didn't hear any yesterday or today. Hunted all morning, covered a lot of ground. The plus side is I found 2 or 3 new spots to deer hunt.
No gobbles here either until 7:30 or so and I happened to be close so started working him then a couple of old hounds came bellowing through and destroyed what little chance there was! He was the only one I heard and he gobbled 5 times. Oh well it was fun.
Do ya'll think the gobbling is affected by the storm moving in?

No way to be 100% certain as turkeys will be turkeys, but I've always thought falling or low barometric pressure can have an impact on gobbling. I hunted the same area this morning where I heard 4 or 5 different toms blowing the treetops out 24 hours ago.blueridge said:

Heard one bird gobble once this morning and that was it until noon. Then they fired up. Killed one at 1:20.

Talk about a letdown, I was reading about all the luck people had on here prior to this weekend, all I can say is BLAH. 2 gobbles all of Sat and half day Sunday.
