I am seeing this more on Facebook, but has anyone noticed an Increase of "Unknowledgeable" hunters moving here from other states. I believe its only going to get worse with the public lands around being over crowded. I have a bad feeling if you hunt public land TVA, WMA were going to be packed in like sardines worse then before... Facebook hunting pages for TN are full of people wanting to know places to hunt and "were to go" and "how to find find a good spot." I have noticed a lot people hanging stands as well all over the WMA's and TVA land I have near me and leaving them. (A lot more than I have seen before.) Just wondering If I am the only one Noticing this or are yall out Middle and West TN having same Issue that your noticing this year.

i hunt public only around mid TN. covid year my usual out of the way spots (id typcally only see 1 other truck if that) blew up. last season it finally eased a bit. hate to see it swing the other way again.
I would say a lot of them stay close to the parking lot. That's how it is here. A lot of people Piled in together everywhere that's less than a mile of the parking lot.

I dont really think its they hunt as much as wanting to Live this " Life style" that the picture moving here.

Could be. Although I'd guess a lot of the west coasters probably hunted out there as well. It's a way different style of hunting than here so no doubt they'd have a learning curve, hence the questions. I'm sure a lot of them are new to it as well. I'm not sure it bothers me though.

I did get frustrated in the covid years with one of my local spots. It's a tiny WMA that's really set up for rabbit hunting. It's very thick with only limited timber. I used to have the place to myself pretty much any time I wanted to go. When covid hit it was like the flood gates opened. Not only were there lots of hunters but there were stands left in trees, peanut butter jars screwed to trees at hip height, trails cut through the thicket & flagged with plastic tape, trash everywhere. I even found a rotting doe 50yds in front of an abandoned pop-up blind. Took me all of an hour to decide I wasn't going back. I reported it to the local warden but never heard anything back, not that he's obligated to. And I've never went back in to see if it had all been cleaned up. Maybe I'll scout it this year & see what's going on in there. My guess is that it wasn't move-ins that did it but rather some local dirtbags. No idea really. All I know is it kinda ticked me off.

Yeah that would me too it just takes one idiot to cost us all a spot. I Would say at one TVA spot I go too there is probably Ladder stands hanging there this weekend that weren't there last weekend. Plus about 5 climbers chained to the bottom of trees.

There is a mass exodus of normal people out of blue states into red states. It's only going to get worse as gender ideology and CRT invades the education systems in blue states. Normal people don't want their kids having drag shows and learning about butt plugs.
^This^
Tennessee's population has increased 77% since 1970. As the big cities grow (Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville) the state will turn blue.

If you have small children in public schools now, by high school they will know how to speak Spanish without ever having taken a class.

What use to be small town easy going places 5 years ago. Are now overcrowded with traffic jams that make you disgusted to even go anywhere. I've hunted the same public land since the state bought it in 2007. Never use to see anyone. Or it was the same people year in and out. It's way to overcrowded now. Disrespectful pricks that think they own the spots they hunt. Most recently moved from out of state that I've talked to. I'd say without a doubt social media and apps and the massive amount of public land type videos have brought on most of the overcrowding. And every state bashes people that move in. Moving In is one thing but ruining it for the people that's lived there is another. Ask yourself one thing how did so called blue states become so crazy. Well you are witnessing exactly how it happened right now in good old TN as we speak. They move in and you think they came here because they want what we have created. Only to realize that each election is razor thin to electing far left candidates. When it use to be a landslide. Remember Ronald Reagan came from California. Now look at what the machine has done to the state. If you think that's not what's happening and will happen in TN. You don't understand what is really going on. We welcome them in with that sweet southern charm. I'm not speaking for all. If you moved here out of choice. Then you know what happened to your state.

It cycles. The WMA's I hunt are practically vacant one year and packed the next. Somebody posts a youtube video and everyone flocks to that place. After a few unsuccessful hunts they give up and the next year its quiet again.
Now if you are hunting the closest WMA to a big metro you are going to have company. Just the way it is.

i guess I qualify. Moved her about two years ago. Only been deer hunting about 55 years, and still ask all sorts of questions. Some of them just to get folks talking...

I'd say social media has a lot to do with it.
You think Tennessee is the only state where natives get pushed out?
I couldn't even come close to affording to lease property when I lived in Illinois and let me tell you, it wasn't all natives that jacked up the prices to $50 an acre.
When I hunted Shawnee National Forest a few years ago, there were plates from Alabama, Tennessee,Alabama, Mississippi, Ohio and so on.
It happens to all of us at one point.
Improvise,overcome, adapt.
Sure it sucks.
Just for example, SeekOne has 214,000 followers on Instagram.
Who do you think frequents Instagram? Young people.
If just 1% wanna give it a go at hunting, that's 2,140 people.
