Hey all,

I have a couple trail cams on my place in Meigs County that have showed a doe and yearling. The interesting part is that someone has shaved a number on her hip. I first thought I was reading way too much into it until she turned and had the identical number on the other side. Anyone have any idea if TWRA or other groups have any such testing or data collection programs that does this sort of thing?

Been running cams on this property for 3 years now and she just showed up, so it is either just happened or she's been relocated. Either way, it's very odd. The yearling had no visible markings.

That's crazy!! lol .. I remember back in the 80's.. I was bow hunting, saw a deer coming straight at me in the woods.. I drew back but noticed something odd.. I let off.. he came within 10 yards of me.. he had a orange dog collar around his neck.. lol

I'm also in Meigs county; never seen that before, and I'm not aware of any high-fence hunting ranches in the area. Do you know of any around you?

That's wild. Has to be some sort of study you'd imagine but it also seems odd a study would shave numbers instead of tagging since the fur will just grow back. Maybe people raising farm venison or something? Very weird.

Strange thing is that everyone around me hunts. No high fences that I'm aware of. Mostly small tracts of property. I'll try and ask a TWRA guy next time I see one. They seem to be busy right now with all the duck hunters along the river.
