How does the turkey season seem to be shaping up in NW TN, especially around Gibson and Weakley counties? Has the long season of cold affected things? I'll be heading to TN tomorrow morning. Thanks Ray

I took my little cousin on the Juvenile this past Saturday on the Gibson/Weakley line and turkeys gobbled really well. One even gobbled on his on well after flydown. I have another farm in Weakley which I haven't been to, but my hunting buddy went and listened the other day and it seems to be shaping up nicely as well. There will be some henned up birds that fly down and get quite early, as there always are in the early season, but I think you'll be hitting it about right.

I think if its cold they will not be gobbling much its about 2 weeks behind what it normally is this time of year birds are still flocked up but there starting to fight do there thing we need some warmer weather. Good weekend to hunt with a buddy because if you call one up I think it will be multiple birds come in.

Juvi on consisted of birds gobbling on roost only anf hens yelping until 8 am and shut up until 4 pm they start again....i was not successful in getting one to gobble in the pm or after they flew up to roost

Spring is running a week or two late this year. And I'm still seeing huge flocks of turkeys in some places, with vast areas having very few or no birds. The flocked birds should be scattering fast in the coming days and next week or two.
