Oak Ridge cancelled

It was a win for me. I had already decided that with everything going on I wasn't going to try to make the hunt. It looks like I don't lose the points I had going into this drawing and add another one. Maybe next year will work out better.

These are insane times we are living in. I fully expect a mandatory lock down to happen as our season opens. In addition, the hospitals in this state aren't even close to being able to handle this. After working in them for a long time I'd recommend steering clear of hca facilities, their equipment is outdated and patient care not a priority

Completely asinine decision, how is someone that is turkey hunting alone or maybe with one other person a threat to spread the Coronavirus? Talk about "social distancing" you can't be more social distanced then being by yourself on the woods. And I know 100% for sure they are not giving employees days off because 2 of my uncles and my aunt all work there. Sorry but in my opinion we are causing a panic all our own where there should not be one.i remember H1N1 in 2009 almost 20,000 dead and 60,000,000 infected (directly from the CDC website) and nobody batted an eye now everyone is chicken little and the sky is falling. So if you want to sit in your house and be a couch potato and do nothing I guess this is the excuse you have been waiting on. I am still living life just washing my hands more, giving people personal space, not eating and drinking after anyone and generally just being clean and respectful. Sorry for the rant but I am just over this whole thing. I haven't even watched the news in three days because I think they are making the situation worse. God bless and be safe

That's good that it worked out for you, darn nice to keep that point. The boy was drawn for OR this year and was looking forward to it as he was rained out last year at Tellico West, and didn't get a youth hunt this year.

I'm aggravated about it but it is what it is. I don't believe the decision was made based on hunters, but more about Security personnel and their safety. At security portals they are handling hunter's permits and IDs, that's alot of opportunity to pass the virus around. Heck, probably was a good excuse to save on overtime pay.
