I've been hunting OR for deer and turkey since 1997. Killed a few nice ones. Occasionally run into people in the woods. Most are courteous, but some have been real jerks. When I was only applying for the gun hunts, I was drawn about every other year. When I applied for archery only, I could get drawn about every year.
Anyway, the answer to the OP's question, you'll get something in the mail if you're drawn, or if you're not, just like all the other quota hunts. If it is cancelled, you'll also get something in the mail.
I honestly don't know if canceling the hunts is a political statement about hunting and gun control, or if it is a political statement about the corona virus. Hunts were originally cancelled in the spring of 2020 due to the virus. Hopefully I'm drawn and hopefully I get to hunt.
