I think this is a fence issue on .223 or 5.56. Some folks say there is a difference in chamber pressures others say no difference so that they both can be shot out of the same gun.

Who knows. All I know is that they are trying to take the real firepower out of the hands of the citizens, and this is one way to do it.

We all should be writing our elected officials and demand this be stopped.

How much visibility do you think Obama really has on an issue like the DRMO of dunnage? With the wars and the economy, etc, this is not something that's going to get his attention. If there has been a change in policy, I would virtually guarantee it came up from below not down from the President. And it probably would have been based on a liablility issue. Believe or not, people are constantly trying to sue the government, and sometimes it works.

exactly. the point i was trying to make is 223 is a commercial round not the military spec ammo, unless they have started using 223 since i got out of the Army. so why was that ad saying 223 unless they dont know what they are talking about.

some AR'S have 223 on the barrel stamp, but are chambered for both. a bolt action usually has the short throat, and if you shoot a 5.56 in a bolt action the pressures can be way over max, unless it is long throated.

I've been using military brass for reloading for years and have never had a problem with it. My best groups out of my Encore are with military brass.
