Odd coat on this buck

I actually seen a black deer when I was 12. Me my dad and two local boys from town saw him. Nobody ever killed him, and haven't seen one since. Beautiful buck. Still have never seen a piebald or albino in wild.

I saw one at my place two years in a row, just once each year tho. The first sighting was 4 yrs ago I believe, then the following year I saw him once. He was running ahead( I say he, could have been a doe I suppose) of a bunch of other deer staying low to the ground, while the others were bounding and hopping like they usually do, that's why I really think it was a buck.

That's what I was thinking. Once he looses the orangeish fur around his front and rear, I don't think you'll look twice at his coat.

That fur looks black to me, not gray. I'd say there is some melanism going on there.

Darker than normal for sure
