I am buckles. In a nutshell, I sat on a ridge saddle from daylight till noon with only one other car on our road. I took electric bike 700 yards down muddy road and then hiked 300 yards down trail. I had two fresh scrapes 60 yards away. I saw one hen, 50 buzzards, and had one blow from behind me.
I moved to a thicker area for the evening and hunted where 3 different types of habitat met. Nothing.
It was a great campground and cabin, The TN side also has dining options and stores near the entrance if needed.
From what I could see, not one single field on TN side is planted in any crops. The TN population is supposed to be better than KY side, but I saw no evidence of it. There is plenty of great habitat there, but soybeans go along way to helping antler growth
I had planned to hunt for 3 hours this morning before the rain got heavy. Long story short...I'm having some lower back issues. I thought for awhile that I would never be able to pack and leave. Hunting was out of question.
I will probably go back again to KY youth hunt, but I don't see myself going back alone on TN side.
This would be a great and nice way to have a tndeer hunt/gathering. The facilities are nice. I think it currently takes 2 preference points to draw.
Congratulations to all those successful! It is a beautiful place and we are blessed to have it.
