Can they overturn the call after the game?

Nope....

<BZZZZ> What is wrong answer, Alex?

The conference reviews all targeting calls, and they can add to or reduce suspensions.

I sure hope they penalize the game officials as well.

Let us know when that ever happens "Alex"...... :tu:

Terrible call,Musburger and Jessie Palmer agreed.Should have been a fumble recovery Tennessee!!

I have never seen a targeting call upheld when the only contact on a player was shoulder to chest and the reciever had taken three steps after the catch. I also have never seen a ball that was caught and three steps taken and then dropped not considered a fumble. But to review the call and still get it wrong is inexcusable.

The targeting call is the correct call. I watched the video five times. The UT' s player crown of the the helmet hits the KY player in the face mask before the shoulder lands. It's bang-bang but correct call....:)

I don't know if you are blinded to anything involving Tennessee or just stirring the pot. I'll go with B. Nobody could actually believe some of the stuff you post.

No, it wasn't the correct call. The receiver caught and possessed the ball and took three steps with his head turned and looking up field making him a ball carrier at that point. He was not defenseless. The TN DB did not strike with the crown of the helmet. Unless the definition of crown of the helmet has been changed to mean the back of the helmet. The back of his helmet brushed the face mask of the UK player as he actually turned his head to avoid leading with the crown.

UK receiver straight up got his plows cleaned and fumbled the ball. It was a horrible call and should be reviewed by the SEC and suspension lifted.

How dare you? Don't you know that GnB played some college ball back in the day :D ? Stop inserting facts into his dream world!

I guess y'all better call the refs and tell them that they got it wrong even after watching the replay..... Lol

I wouldn't hold my breath on the SEC stepping in but I guess anything is possible.... :tu:

If they don't change the end of the Miami-Duke game they are not going to change this...

I doubt they will lift the 1/2 game suspension, but it was the wrong call and they had a chance to get it right with the video footage and failed. The first half of the South Carolina game suspension should be lifted.

Oh I don't really think they will change anything. That would mean that they were wrong on the initial call. It was the wrong call though.

That Miami, Duke ending was the sorriest excuse for reffing a game that I personally have ever seen. Those morons should never call another game. Duke got royally screwed out of that game.

Hmm, the procedures in the targeting call allow them to reduce (but they probably won't since they know they would look foolish and it really shouldn't hurt UT that bad since we are only playing SC); whereas there is no "out" in the Duke/Miami fiasco.

I heard a good point earlier; had it been Duke that scored on that play to win the game, would the outrage have been so loud? I don't think so, because everyone hates Miami.

The refs were bad enough but what gets to me is the watched the replay to see if he had his knee down and they said no... If any call should get turned it should be that because if they overturned that call Duke is still undefeated in conference play!

Under review right now . Probably will be lifted.

so have the vols wrapped up the SEC east yet?

?

Are you serious? Florida has it all but wrapped up. They could still blow it, but their D is too good to allow that.

It could be ugly though if FSU beats them and then they get smoked by Bama in the SEC champ. game.
