#5 in CFP is the best draw. Teams are better off losing championship games to have a shot at that #5 seed.I'm not sure about what to think of SMU this season. I also think that ND has played a pretty soft schedule while getting beaten by a very weak team. Otherwise I feel that the rankings are about right based upon what transpired last weekend and where we are at in the season. Now there is still one more weekend of football to be played by a few teams while others get to sit on a bye week. I also feel odd about that.
I'd love to see Indiana at Neyland. With both the coaches & AP poll having UT ahead of Tosu tennessee is looking likely to host a CFP game.
Maybe. Although I agree with your strategy it still feels like a battle for mediocrity instead of trying to be the best.#5 in CFP is the best draw. Teams are better off losing championship games to have a shot at that #5 seed.
I don't disagree. When have 2 and 3 loss teams ever been relevant in the national championship conversation? IMO, none of these #13-25 teams have any right to complain about not making the cut. Arguably every team that's not top 4 is being gifted a shot at the championship.Maybe. Must have been before Saturdays games.
Ohio state can't finish in the top 4, same for Miami.
I definitely feel that there have been years where the top 4 have not been chosen, or that there are strong arguments for 5-6 teams, but the current setup is kinda ridonculous where the 12 that are chosen may not even be the top 12, and some better teams may be penalized for being better than others that get a bye.I don't disagree. Be 16 teams next yearI definitely feel that there have been years where the top 4 have not been chosen, or that there are strong arguments for 5-6 teams, but the current setup is kinda ridonculous where the 12 that are chosen may not even be the top 12, and some better teams may be penalized for being better than others that get a bye.
The selection criteria sucks and the bracketing sucks. But it is what it is. Maybe "they" will fix it in the next year or two, but more than likely the "fix" will be worse than what they were trying to solve. It's still fun for now, but feeling more and more "tainted" every season
Maybe. But that will fix nothing unless they fix the selection criteria and methodologyBe 16 teams next year
Agreed!Maybe. But that will fix nothing unless they fix the selection criteria and methodology
