One-day season

Congrats Bryan, nice buck! I figured you and your crew have been hard at it. How have y'all done last week or so?
Only two down, but two other shooters passed. Almost every shooter seen was right at dark as they followed does into a food plot. Almost no morning activity. Far more of a "drought/no acorns" pattern.

Good job, congrats!
Still slow for us in Wayne.
Shockingly slow for us at this time of year. Usually, we're at full-blown rut by the 10th of November, yet no signs of true estrus yet this year. Not a single fawn wandering around looking lost (either from hunter observation or trail-cam), tons of pester chasing in food plots but no chases back in the woods, and does being following by bucks look really skittish. The doe my buck was following actually blew at him when he tried to approach her. Never seen that before. I thought the doe had seen me when she blew, but she was looking right at the buck when she did it.

Congrats BSK!

On a side note, has anyone ever told you that you look like Levon Helm? I had to look his name up but when I saw the pic of you, I thought, "He looks like the guy from the movie Shooter." He's the guy they go to for information on other snipers capable of making the long shot.

And before I get raked over the coals for not knowing, the movie "Shooter" is not what he is most well known for. It was just before "my time". haha

Congrats!

When did you guys go to a 1 buck limit?
Once so many family members wanted to hunt that we had to limit kills! We had 6 hunters opening weekend of MZ. Really, if we want to maintain the buck age structure, we need to limit or total buck harvest to 5 or at most 6 bucks. That's around 25% of our target age-class buck population (anything 2 1/2 or older). So far, this year we have 22 older bucks using the place.
