Opening day is here!

We are hunting standing corn this morning off in the hollow. Seen 10 slick heads and one small buck so far.

Wife has an 8 point she had been watching that she said it was limping bad on left front leg She just watched him bed down. Says she has also seen a doe, doe was watching the buck.

I will be in the stand early this afternoon, if she doesn't want to go. If I had someone to watch our son, we both could go.

Make sure you have a her a sandwich fixed when she gets back!😁

I have a nice 8 point already hanging on the meat pole from MZ season. I won't go out again until this one is in the freezer.
Good luck to all of you.

Hunted till 0830. My son got a little cold so we walked back to the house. Didn't hear but 6 or 7 shots in north west Cheatham County. Saw one spike but by the time I got the gun up for my son to get a shot he saw him shaking with buck fever and walked into a thicket. Didn't have another clear shot after that.

Haven't missed a rifle opener that I can recall in the last 30+ years but first time for everything. Was in Missouri and Arkansas all week and got home yesterday after 5:00 so hanging with the wife. Was gonna go down tomorrow but looks like pouring rain so maybe Wednesday or Friday. Good luck everybody!

Just got back from town, had to run my 16 year old to town and do get off at the high school. We passed several trailers with side by sides and no deer. Did see two with small deer, likely does.

Wife is still in stand, wind has picked up but so has the action. She has seen some chasing in the past 15 minutes. Said she also just had a doe with dark tarsals and a fawn pop out looking really nervous and looking behind them.

Didn't see the first deer and don't think I even heard a shot. It was slow yesterday but I did see one good buck out of range & dropped a doe. I let her hang overnight so I gotta finish working her up and then it's Birthday parties and all sorts of other real life stuff. I think afternoons may be better right I just don't know when I'll be able to get back out. Good luck everybody still at it.
