Peak gobbling passed?

I am defiantly not a rookie in the turkey woods but this season has me a little stumped. Though I have connected twice, I have only had one really good day of gobbling all season (and i poleaxed one). I know hens hens are separating themselves and i am starting to see a few gobbler groups (mountgumery county)but it seams gobbling has been on a decline since opening day ESPECIALLY OFF THE ROOST. I havent even got one fired up a from 9-10am and that really is my wheelhouse when it comes to dead birds. Curious if anyone else agrees with the way the year is playing out and what we can expect the next two weeks.
 
Been gobbling good for me on the roost get kind of quiet after flydown. Most of then time last week we were able to find one that wanted to play around 11 am.
 
Just one fellow's opinion but if indeed there was a peak at all, it has since passed in my area. It was far less of a peak and more of a bump. This has been one of the poorest gobbling years in recent memory in my neck of the woods.
 
I think it is all just kind of random. But I do know that lone gobblers that do alot of gobbling are easier to kill, and from what I have observed it is more towards the last week of april and first week of may. Southern Middle TN

Muddy...might be able to chalk it up to age structure.

I recall research that showed a strong correlation between drumming and older age structure. In years following poor hatches for example (when a higher proportion of toms were 3yrs or older) gobbling was less frequent. Conversely, 2 years after good hatches, gobbling was absolutely through the roof.

X2 been hearing a ton of it. Still gobbling good for me though.

You just hit the nail on the head!!! Not alot of 2yr olds this yr which equals less gobbling. If it wasn't for 2yr olds most people would quit hunting!!!! Years like these will cause a hunter to appreciate the 2yr old.
 
This is my first turkey season but I seldom hear a gobble after 9. Also, I'm such a novice I'm not even sure if I've heard any drumming.
 
Oh i hear a ton of birds on the roost. Its off the roost that is making me bang my head against walls. Its like they are in a rock concert until 630. I have taken a couple birds early this year, but i really enjoy the lonely birds mid morning and mid day and they are hanging out in libraries apparently.

Turkeys gobbling hard in South Cherokee and have been since day one. I reckon they will continue to gobble well on into June, as usual. Everyday is different in the turkeys woods, and to state that there is a peak gobbling period is nonsense in my opinion.

Not everybody can hear the drumming. I can't hear it but, I can hear them spit.
