West TN Duck Reports

Headed out for my last hunt of the season, my group hit 625 Yesterday the best season for us ever. I'm thankful.

I, for one, am glad it's over for me. Sunday all day was the final chapter. Didn't kill a duck

I thought Sunday was it for me too but I managed to get tomorrow off so I'm going one more time. Managed to check my place out this evening and it looks promising. As we all know,,,, it can go sideways quick!

Was supposed to hunt today and maybe tomorrow morning. That got shot to hell but I am still planning on making the final stand on Friday. Maybe the rain tomorrow will help, at this point it couldn't hurt our place.

32 in the boot heel today. Mostly mallards with some pintail and teal.

Was there all day Saturday and Sunday til 9:30. Killed 2 Saturday and 0 Sunday. Busted the ice with a side by side Saturday and think maybe the broken chunks of ice looked like glass causing the ducks to flare. No other reason they'd work then flare off. Sunday afternoon should've been good but we had to leave. Had ducks all in the hole when we arrived and stayed around a while but just wouldn't work.

Well, again, I think I'm done for the season. It was well worth the effort to drag a few things back out and make a few calls to get a group together for today. Probably the best day of my season other than hunting with family a bunch on other hunts.
It was warm, calm, rainy enough to be aggravating, and probably saw and worked more ducks than any other day this year. What an amazing hunt to end the season! Very blessed and fortunate to have what we have.

I am done as well. The last 3 weeks have been very fun. Was lucky enough to get invited to a private spot and we had some good hunts. Probably one of my best seasons ever!

We drew Bogota 21 for youth Saturday. I was hopeful it would be good because it rested all week but nope TWRA drew it for a one day hunt today only... Really ticks me off. The rivers are getting out I hope my kids get to fire their guns this year because they didn't get too last year...

It's been a year to remember, for sure. We need about 20 more between today and the vet/juvie hunt, but I'm not gonna be mad if we don't hit it.

We had 12 a couple weeks ago. On Friday after the rest, we broke a hole out in the ice and got a 4 man limit. Sat was 3 ducks, didn't hunt Sunday. There were a ton of specks around, but we were not set up for them. Probably saw more specks and snows than ducks by far.

Yes there have been lots of geese around bouncing from field to field but not as many 2 weeks ago... Everything has changed since then.. Thanks
