I haven't watched a single MLB but one since the 1980 strike and that was to watch the Cubs win.. Figure it won't happen again for another 1000 years so better catch it while I can.
Pete Rose was by far my favorite player of all time. Him and Johnny Bench. The HOF should be ashamed of themselves for not accepting him.

I would send them a tik tok video of me getting my hair done the same day of the ceremony. Or maybe at sports book placing a bet on the Reds Just to spite them.

Yes sir. Not a Cubs fan either, but, prayed they'd win a World Series before I was gone. Wife even bought me a Cubs Champion hat!
I was watching live in 2003 when Steve Bartman interfered with Moises Alou's attempt to catch the foul ball. I didn't (and still don't) believe in curses but it was hard not to when that happened. I'm glad I got to see them break the streak as well.
Bartman didn't throw a wild pitch, muff a ground ball at SS, or give up 8 runs in that same inning; nor did he make the team lose another come-from-behind game in game 7. Champions play like Champions, they don't blame a fan for killing themselves off.
Just as bad (or even worse for a 7-year old BMan) was the Cubs falling apart in September of 69 and letting the M$ "Miracle Mets" win the pennant.
I figured I'd never see the Cubs win a WS and by the time they did, I could not have cared less any longer.
