I know if I got drawn , I'd drive down today to avoid it . I'm not gonna miss that hunt unless family issues or something like that came up ... But I don't have to worry about it for another 4 or so years .[/quote

My issue is I work for the local utility company. This potential ice storm trumps a draw hunt.

I bet if his power or gas was off he would be mad they let you off to go hunting. I know they wouldn't want me off during the storm in 09 I worked for a propane company and we ran non stop in that ice storm now I work for the natural gas company and we are getting prepared now incase it gets bad
no , I completely understand having to work in sever weather . I work for the Fire department and always have a chance at getting mandatoried . I was just wondering if maybe he could find someone else that would come in to work for him since he has waited so long for the hunt ....

So what's the word Eddie C , are you gonna get to hunt at least tomorrow ? If so , I hope you get a chance at a big one . Keep us updated .

I was able to scount thursday and hunted saturday. Saturday was one of the coldest most miserable hunts I've ever been on, even beat some of my duck hunting days. The 9 degree wind chill was rough. I wore my Columbia duck hunting clothes, went thru 3 sets of foot warmer and 3 sets of hand warmers. Only saw 1 doe and 1 spike right at dark.
I talked to one guy and we agreed that there is so much sign you can get confused of which spot to hunt.
One guy said he shouldn't have hunted all day friday in the freezing rain because all it did was soak his clothes and he had no way of drying them completely before ssturday .morning.

Just bad timing all the way around
