Potential for 2014

I've got a bunch of bucks that look just like that. Not bad bucks at all, just nothing to get too excited about.

Although they look similar (and were photographed in the same spot), these are actually four different bucks:

Next years pics will tell the real potential of this buck.Needs a few more years. If this is in Sumner county they really need a couple mopre years.Sumner has been known to produce some really giant bucks. If given the time.

Yep, he will or should be a shooter next year, all though many folks would be happy with him this year. He is just a little shy of my kill zone. Good luck!

PSEhunter,

My one concern for you optimism is that the pictured buck is not young. He is at least 3 1/2. Although he may be one of those bucks that explodes from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2, normally a buck doesn't add a huge amount of antler from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 (around 15 inches on average)

BSK those are some sharp pictures. Great quality. My bushnell HD is pretty sharp but not like that.

They are nice aren't they. And that's one of the reasons I use the cameras I do instead of the most popular ones. Although I don't need "magazine quality" images, I DO need clear images to see what I need to see, which is sharp details of each buck's antlers. I need to be able to identify unique bucks by sometimes very subtle differences in antler configuration.

Thats what I was thinking too. He may put on some mass though for next season if enviromental conditions are good.

Yup. USUALLY mass increases significantly from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2, and DRAMATICALLY from 4 1/2 to 5 1/2.
