Poults Not Seen!

Was up fly fishing Bald River in Cherokee National Forest on Wednesday and saw a Hen with a couple poults in the middle of no where. They were very small so must have been fairly recent hatch up there,

boy, when you say "middle of nowhere" you MEAN it, lol. Bald River, beautiful...used to see wintering flocks when deer/hog hunting up in there. not been since brother passed away.

2 hens with 10 poults total yesterday, SW TN.

Saw 1 hen with 1 tiny poult yesterday. Bout had to be more with her. Couldn't have been more than a few days old. Also heard one gobble several times on roost yesterday morning.

Saw a bunch of hog tracks near Holly Flats while I was fishing.

Saw this about Bald River & had to butt -in. Used to camp at Holly Flats & fish oit of that campground. Great times, good fishing.

Saw a hen and 4-6 poults. All flew out from higher weeds in front of my ATV. About the size of a grouse….

Rode around this afternoon and saw probably 15 hens and not 1 poult!Clay county is where I ride around and turkey hunting is sure not what it was at onetime!In years past the kill was between 600 and 700 per-season to between 100-and 200 these days.

I've seen about 40. All in one day, crossing the trail between high grasses on my way out of an area I like. Not all at once, but in the same afternoon. First time I've ever seen poults!
Also, a gang of 5 tall gangly jakes running down the road, their beards where more like a soul patch .

Checked some cameras on a property i hadn't been to since first week of April. Saw 1 hen with no poults around where I park. Had a group of 3 hens on cam with no poults. And this hen with 1 poult, but her behavior in the photos makes me think something may have been after them.

Pics from a different property a couple counties away. Since we started extensively hammering the coons/possums a few years ago, we routinely have multiple broods using this tract. They love bugging in the clover!

Buddy was coyote hunting my place this morn and saw a hen squat for a tom and he bred her.

Bunch of little ones in this picture. There's at least 9 or 10 of them. Had only been seeing one lone hen since turkey season, but three more and some poults have shown up since the hay was cut last week.

Out of 10 hens I see regularly she is the only one I have seen w poults

Saw 8 hens yesterday in Cannon County…watched them for 45 minutes…no poults

I've got 6-12 hens in my back yard every day, and haven't seen the first poult.
