Thats a bearded hen for sure.I don't see the spur you are talking about but didn't look that close.
It do like a hen, except that I have never seen one with that much red on its head. All that I have seen have either blue or grayish white heads. Whatever.

We have quite a few bearded hens on us every year. Must be something in the water in East Tennessee.
