Personally, I wish the first polls didn't come out until about week 4 of the season. The coaches poll has a new sponsor. It's the "Amway Coaches Poll". How ridiculous...

It seems the coaches don't expect much from the Vols this year. The Vols didn't get a single vote.

Florida State got 56 out of 62 first place votes.

I'm like you,they should play some games before they rank the teams.That gives the higher ranked team a big advantage over some lower ranked teams might be alot better than their ranking!
 
Have to take a stab at Florida not being ranked in the top 25.GNB was bragging a few days ago about the Gators last 3 years of top ten recruiting classes,won 4 games last year and not even in the top 25 poll.This says about as much for Mushchamps coaching ability as anything could!!

Dang, not a SINGLE VOTE for the vols? Whoever voted must not have watched coach butch last season and the incredible coaching he displayed. Heck, he ALMOST beat the DORES last season at neyland in his first year. That would've put him on the list!
